NJL Panel Session | Analysing the impact of NEP 2020

On 30 August 2020, NotJustLex in association with Vidhit Legal Project, hosted an unique panel discussion by the law students. It was intriguing to hear the impact of National Education Policy 2020 from the students themselves. An exchange of views and free flow of informed opinions was seen, encompassing all the major aspects from the interdisciplinary approach to the inclusivity of policy. The panelists were: (a) Neha N. Patil, 3rd Year, University of Mumbai Law Academy; (b) Anushka Nayar, 2nd Year, Rajiv Gandhi National Univerty of Law, Patiala; and (c) Niharika Sinha; 2nd Year, Army Law College Pune. The session was moderated by Eshani Agarwal, 2nd Year, Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai.

NLJ Interactive Session on Work-life of a Fresher in a Big Law Firm in India

On 8 August 2020, we hosted an interactive session on: “Work-life of a Fresher in a Big Law Firm in India”. The session was with a panel of young lawyers, working in leading law firms of India. They shared their journey: ‘law college to law firm’. They also provided some good insights on: life of a junior associate, things which they did to land up in a law firm and much more. Speakers: Sumedha Mazumdar, an associate in the General Corporate team of Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co. She is an alumni of Government Law College, Mumbai (Batch of 2019). Jashaswi Ghosh, an associate in the Pharmaceuticals, Healthcare & Life Sciences Practice at the Delhi office of Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas. Jashaswi has graduated from Gujarat National Law University, in 2018. Saranya Mishra, an associate at Khaitan & Co, Mumbai. Her practice area is corporate and M&A at the firm. There is no doubt that in the coming years, AI is going to transform the entire legal industry. The process is already underway and it’s just a matter of time. In the webinar we explained digital drafting and automation of executable smart contracts. NJL Case Comment Writing Competition, June 2020

NJL held an all India case comment writing competition in June 2020. The objective of this event was to promote the importance of landmark judgments passed in 2019 by the Honourable Supreme Court of India. The participants critically analysed the: (i) Essar Steel Verdict; and (ii) Ayodhya Verdict. We appreciate the efforts of all the participants. The following were the winners:
